Alp akyıldız is a multidisciplinary artist based in Istanbul, working across visual arts and cinema. His practice explores human nature, collectivity, and the conditions shaping the relationship between the self and the world around it.

A member of Meddah Jiggy, an independent film collective rooted in Istanbul’s underground art scene, Akyıldız’s practice is grounded primarily in painting, extending into drawing and moving image practices that work across shifting technical conditions
.
Material and process are central to his practice, closely connected to his conceptual concerns. Breaking glass, scratching surfaces, and working with light are not merely technical choices, but ways of engaging with uncertainty, resistance, and transformation. The works move between control and chance, presence and absence, visibility and disappearance.
